Thoughts on Tacima CS947 Power block for switch mode power supplies, microwave, fridge etc.

I already use a couple of Tacima CS929 six way power blocks for TV, Blu Ray, PVR, phone, laptop, router.

No, I wouldn’t plug my Naim kit into one, but after reading past posts on this forum, by respected contributors, I decided the Tacimas were worth a punt as a preventative measure for potential noise and RFI issues from switched mode power supplies (which I understand can have a detrimental effect on sound quality from my Naim system). I can’t say I noticed any difference, but I’m okay with that because I bought the Tacimas for peace of mind, both for existing and any future items that might be plugged into them.

I’m now thinking of using two more Tacima blocks for other items. The Tacima CS929 is no longer available (even though it may still be listed) having been superseded by the CS947. The specification of the 947 has changed from the 929 (947 has gas discharge tube protection, thermal protection, and filter status test button).

Does anyone, with the technical knowledge (which I unfortunately lack), have an opinion as to what effect, if any, the features of the CS947 might have in relation to my Naim kit ? Has anyone used a CS947 block yet in the way that I’m proposing, and if so, what did you find ? Once again, the Naim kit will not be plugged in to the CS947, but the CS947 block would be plugged into the same circuit as the Naim kit.

In case I’ve not been clear thus far, the concern is in relation to what I understand to be a widely held view that it is best not to use mains conditioners either with or on the same circuit as Naim kit. That said, I do not appear to have experienced any issues with the CS929 blocks.

For info, I don’t have a separate mains supply or spur for my Naim kit, and for practical reasons, never will have.

Many thanks for any information.
