Second hand Nait XS

Posted by: PKNaim on 17 April 2016

Hello,

What would be a reasonable price for a second hand Nait XS (the one from 2008). I love the NAIM sound, but I am missing the budget for a new one. It would power a pair of Dynaudio Excite X34 speakers.

Thanks,

Sign in to a well known auction site and find out what they have gone for in recent private sales. Though the sellers may not give you the year of manufacture they will often give you the first three digits of a serial no which will be enough for you to find the age, if you use the info on Naim's product page.

Expect to pay more at a dealer but you can expect a warranty, something like 3-6 months. In the UK anyway.

Early XS is wonderful amp, I hope you find one.

Probably about £700 for one in unmarked condition.

Somewhat dependent on where you live. Fair market value for a private sale runs about $1200-1400 in the US. One is typically available on the usual venues.

Mine went for a shade under £700 on a well known auction site. Excellent value I'd say. Unless you've really solid reasons (system synergy, whatever) to get a Supernait or (warranty, er...?) or new XS2 it's definitely worth the £1000/£2000 saving!

OK thanks for your replies. If the kit is in good condition, I'll go for it.

CD5XS or ND5XS, some Naca5 wires and a rack...... you're laughing.
