Another SuperUniti query...

I know it's set up for "Spotify", but is this exclusivley? All my music is on Google Play Music ( I didn't like the way Spotify kept breaking). Can this be "cast" to the SU with, I dunno, maybe the NAIM App? Is that how it works? I'm confused.
I don't know the answer to this question, but you may get more response from the Streaming Audio room.

Never used it myself, but Chromecast might be worth a look. Alternatively, if you play from a device that supports Airplay, you could use the Airport Express/optical cable option.
I don't know much - well anything actually - about Google Play music, other than that you can upload your music to it. Does it play in CD quality? I'd be worried about the effect on sound quality. I can't listen to Spotify on the stereo, and even Qobuz Hifi sounded dreadful when I tried a Chromecast. Why not put the music on a NAS and hear the system's full potential?
I believe when you upload your music to Google Play, it automatically converts it to MP3. It might be a handy service to use for convenience, but your Superuniti is a bit wasted if this is your main source. Assuming you have the originals, I would follow HH's advice and put it on a NAS in a lossless format.
Yes, I suddenly realised that there must be a good reason for NAIM to default to Spotify in particular. I loaded Spotify once again on to my Mobile Device, picked "Extremely High Quality" on the settings menu and the difference in sound quality from Google was immediately apparent. It even sounds good on the lounge HiFi routing it through the TV/Chromecast dongle... Looking forward to getting my SU even more.
Bear in mind that even extreme quality Spotify is still only 320kbps mp3. While I don't share others' aversion to it (and I enjoy a few 320 radio stations), you can do better by using a NAS etc if possible.
Also integrated into SuperUniti is Tidal, which offers a CD quality service that is a further improvement over the 330k MP3 level from Spotify. The Naim app works better with Tidal (control and selection directly in app, rather than linking to the native service app as for Spotify).

which connection is better between a NAS like a Synology and the Naim streamer
Ethernet, via a (£20-odd) switch. There's reams if info on the forum and elsewhere about Ethernet connection in this context, just have a search and you should find plenty to be going on with.
