Unity Serve

Posted by: Blue Flame on 29 April 2016

I have a NAS that I want to use as a backup for my Unity Serve.

I have followed the instructions but I have not managed to get the Unity Serve to "see" the NAS so I can not use it as a Backup disc.

My NAC-N 272 can "see" the NAS and play music from it.

It is a LaCie NAS and mycumputer is a MAC running El Capitan.

OP, something is wrong in your setup.  One can do this, but there is not much room for error.

BlueFlame - First of all, is the NAS visible in Finder on you Mac? - If No, this is a network issue, rather than a US/Naim issue.

If yes, I assume that when you go into maintenance on n-serve on your Mac app, you can't see it in "Network Shares" in "Maintenance"?

I would suggest creating a new, blank share on your NAS that will be dedicated for your backups and nothing else.  Reboot the NAS, close down n-serve and then go back into n-serve once the new share is visible in Finder and Re-Scan network drives...

I encourage you to dig up those pdfs Naim has created for setting up US with various NAS's.

If you use QNAP I can help out with the doc in question and your set up. Email is in my profile.
