Hello All,
Considering upgrading my SU to a NAC-N 272 or my NAP 200 DR to a 250 DR? Currently running bi-amped, which I like, but am not locked into - initial thoughts were to do the amp first, continue to bi-amp, but much perceived wisdom on the forum appears to suggest source first.....?
Thoughts, considerations, recommendations, unfortunately excluding 'do both' for the time being, welcome.
Thanks for your help.

Personally, I can't be bothered with passive biamping. If your speakers are hard to drive, it might be worth getting the 250 first, but otherwise I would go for the 272 first. Both steps are going to give you a nice improvement, so I can't see that you need to worry too much about getting it the wrong way round.
If you're then still interested in biamping, presumably that would mean 2 x 250DR, in which case I would suggest you listen to an XPS before spending similar money on a second power amp.

Go for the 272 and forget biamping would be my advice. They seem to be appearing exdem now, for example there are two listed on Audio T's website, so you could save some money. Your profile omits to mention your speakers by the way.

I think that it makes little sense to keep bolting on more and more to the SuperUniti. Is there something wrong with the lovely NAP 200? I.E., what speakers are you / can't you drive with it. If you're in the mood to upgrade, I'd move the SU to become a second system or sell it off.

Before you part with your 200DR, here's another option for you to consider. Last year, I considered various upgrade paths from my Superuniti, including 272/XPS/250DR which is what I thought i was going to like before I started listening. In the end, I chose a more source first setup of NDX/282/200DR. Same total cost, same number of boxes, but I just found it a more musical setup. I walked out of my final dealer dem session with a 200DR and added it to my SU. Then I added an NDX, and at some stage this year will replace the SU with a 282. (I also considered a 202, which was nice, but decided the 282 was worth the extra.)
