MacBook Air iTunes to Muso Dropouts

Posted by: andarkian on 12 May 2016

In general, I  have no problems playing anything to my Muso, whether it be my iPhone, iPad, PC or MacBook Air. I can do this via UpnP from my NAS  or through WiFi with Spotify or iTunes. However, today I was playing iTunes from my MacBook Air to my Muso via WiFi as usual and the dropouts were intolerable. The solution, at least so far, was simply to reboot the MacBook which slightly puzzles me. To be honest, the MacBook can go days, if not weeks, without being rebooted, but why would that corrupt the communications to the Muso? Evidently something gets overloaded and, or, not cleared over time, but what? Is it a stack that clears on reboot?

Having answered that, why is it when writing a posting on this forum the predictive text does not like the word 'Muso'?

For stable steaming wired connection is generally preferable.

Also - is your network running a DHCP protocol? It would seem something has been changed on your network, as it previously worked fine. Have there been any configuration changes? New router?

Thanks Adam, but the reboot sorted everything. I do believe the corruption was within the MacBook which simply needed to be reset. Just like the router, or any of the Sky boxes, they have to be rebooted from time time or just hang up.
