That Pet Sounds and Blonde on Blonde were released (pretty good day for music, I guess).

For anyone who's interested there's quite an interesting BBC Radio 4 doc about it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b079pqct

The Beatles and Beggars Banquet were both released on the same day too - November 22nd, 1968 - fifth anniversary of the assassination of JFK.

50 years and a day , saw Brian Wilson perform Pet Sounds at Symphony Hall  Birmingham last night. 6th time of seeing B W since 2002. Stuff of legend.

Supposedly  the last time he will tour outside America, catch him if you can.

Yesterday was also the 50th anniversary of the Dylan concert at Manchester Free Trade Hall which was the scene of the (in)famous Judas incident.

Ooh Er,

Have to concur, and, not wishing to start an argument, have to say that I've never really got the other artist mentioned in the OP's post............I'll get me coat then.

Me neither but I love Blonde on Blonde.

I'm not a great Beach Boys fan either but Blonde on Blonde is my favourite album of all time - and the release of the Cutting Edge with the BB outtakes is the icing on the cake.
