Is my HDX internet connected or not?

Posted by: oscarskeeper on 23 June 2011

Hi all, hoping for a bit of help here.

My HDX (2x400gb)Is showing Internet connected as being false on its system status panel. However, when I tried to rip new CDs, it says it is doing an AMG look up and recovers the track data. It is doing this with CDs which are newer than the machine, so I assume the information can't be coming from its own database.

It is connected to an airport express, I believe the newest model, which acts as a bridge to the Time machine capsule used as a route. It all initially worked fine and set itself up without any difficulty. However, after one day we had a power cut, upon restarting everything, I noticed that the system status had changed.

Is anyone able to help as to what is happening on whether this is likely to cause a problem. I'm specifically thinking of when the Internet radio update becomes available, as I'm very keen to have this work.

Many thanks

Ben

Ben,

I've just checked the status on my HDX too and under "Internet Accessible" that also shows false.  Had no trouble retrieving info from recently ripped discs though, so I'm not sure why it would show this.

I too would be interested to see what this means!

Same here, maybe it's a small bug in the 1.5a SP2 software?

It is a bug - unfortunately Naim software does appear to have quite a few bugs. Was trying out nstream last night and spotted a couple of bugs very quickly.

A bug - wondered if that was the case.
Been spotting this on our demo servers and on one or two customer's too following updating to 1.5a SP2.

That means another round of software updates then...

Just found out that the status on my HDX via the DTC shows "Internet Accessible" true while via the front panel display it shows false

hi all, to give you some information here. the current release of code uses a particular IP address that it pings and then gives then message internet accesible true or false. this IP address isnt replying to pings consistently.

if your getting AMG/freedB hits on CD lookup then the machine is working fine.

We are addressing this in the next release of software.
