Naim Edge to sign Morrissey?

Posted by: Steeve on 29 June 2011

According to an article in The Guardian today, Morrissey is without a record deal for his next album. Does Naim Edge fancy releasing it?!

Still won't make me get a Morrissey recording

Boring, negative, the only music guaranteed to turn happy into morbid.

written by someone who has never listened to his music.

As the man recently said : "What a silly twit"

On the contrary, I find Morrisey very uplifting, with a very dry sense of humour and a compelling view on life.

But if you don't get it, it's not to be got, that's why there is music to fit everybody's taste and mood.

Best

Don.

Er, yes.

Much as I adore The Smiths and some later Morrissey not entirely sure he fits Naim Edge's stated policy of cutting edge music these days.

It is a shame no-one's picking up his latest album - be it good or bad it's bound to be interesting.

(And he still beat the pants off U2 at Glastonbury.)

On balance I would say over the last twenty something years he has been my favourite artist. It would be great if Naim signed him.

Ice,   am I not entitled to my preferences & choices in music & to voice an opinion - ??

I own & have listened to his stuff often & that includes the Smiths. Its just that now I have moved on & have not picked out his stuff for a long time,  I just find it depressing, especially so when I see one of his performances.

I guess you might have problems understanding the stuff I like,  maybe,   but thank goodness we are not all the same otherwise we will be non thinking unopinionated androids.

Mike,

You dont belive in cable or kit burn in .

So you will never get the Smiths or SOLO Morrissey.LOL.

Regarding the OP/ Steeves  POST?

Naim dont have the dosh or the market forces to put it out and get it to sell.

It will get out their and he will get a min of 200,000 for it plus this and that.

Naim dont work with those numbers unless it needs a PSU or two

Nice thought though.

Stu.

I agree with you; it was just a nice thought on my part.

Morrissey already complains that he doesn't get enough exposure so I'm not convinced it would be a symbiotic relationship!
