Dear All;
I recently upgraded from a 200s based system to 272 based one. With new pre/power and speaker cables.
My system consist of NAC272+TXPS+NAP300+CD2X+SONUS FABER CREMONA M+3 JPS Labs power cable+NAC cables
I have on order Super Lumina 3m. I am ready for 372 or 472
This was my 2016 budget.....
Any suggestions for 2017 plans?
- New power supply for 272, 555 maybe?
- Power lines vs JPS lab cables?
- SL DIN/XLR for pre power?
- Speakers?
I am not listening to much CD so i won't invest too much money on my CD2X, just maybe PS is i buy 555PS...
Also i have a Mj Acoustics Reference I Mkiii SUB, that can i integrate to my system,
will it add something? is it a good idea?
I found Cremonas very good with jazz/classic/folk anything acoustic but nothing special with electronic music... i listen all..... could be a sub cure for that? What would be the best connection way?
I wait for your valuable comments....

If you like the sound of your system, I'd budget for music and enjoy it. If you want to diversify formats you could dip your toe in the water with a TT and take it from there. Oh I recommend using a Naim PSU.. to give the sound Naim intended...

ı have a solid wood rack build as a TV unit, i have my receiver, PS4, BD player at the lower floor and NAİM equipment at middle and top floor. At the moment this is the only setup that i can accommodate in my living room but next year i will be moving to a new apartment which i will have a 30sqm room for music then i can accommodate a separate rack for hifi only.
I recently sold my TT (Clearaudio concept + Clearaudio maestro V2 ) to create funds for 272+300..... i have around 1000 records, it is something that i want but it is question of budget, i want to buy my last turntable. So it can be instead of 555PS.

i did not want to sound arrogant, they are my hard earned money out of my limited budget with a family and two kids, i love the music and Naim sound but this urge to get better sometime feels like burning hard earned money instead just be happy with what you have. So no need for a tank or new buttons....

It was just a jibe on the wording of the post. If you are thinking in terms of 555ps expendature I would be planning a move away from the 272. I don't think the 272 can be beat at its price or a fair bit above. But the 300 can deliver more if provided. I don't know the Fabers but I'd be inclined to do all I could to avoid adding a sub to stereo system.
A lot can change between now and 2017. I would take Simon's advice and splurge on music and then revisit the question nearer the time.

Re your query about the sub - I would certainly try it. I added a Velodyne sub to my Naim N-sats and it has lifted the system to another level - I now have better bass than I had with large floor standers. The Velodyne has a room correction system which uses a microphone at the listening position and a live on screen display to enable you to optimise the low end. With the N-sats in my room there was precious little below 80hz but now the system is nearly flat to 20hz.
I don't listen to much jazz, classical or folk but rock, electronica and reggae are transformed!

Yes to SuperLumina Interconnect. When you move to pre-power and possible streamer you will have a good use for it. I would lose the TPS when you move further up the front end ladder. See if you can try a PowerLine. You may be surprised. Wait for the new room and put the Fraim in. As to the sub, personally I don't see the need with your system and speakers once set up and fed correctly.

In a similar position in as what to upgrade for 272/250 system. For me it is Super Lumina Speaker Cable and Interconnect plus PSU for 272 then I would be very close to done. I expect these will be done end of year to next. I wondering if a TP XPS has any value here?
For no cost racking there is still points kit and shelving

It will take a few months for the boxes to completely run in and settle down, and the speaker wires will take a similarly long time. For what it's worth, I'd get a 555PS (on the basis that with a 300 you need to max out the 272), a din to xlr SL lead, and two Powerlines. Then once you've moved get a proper rack and dedicated mains, and only then consider the speakers. You could actually sell the sub and use the cash for Powerlines, so that you get them sooner rather than later.

Anyone who would comment on JPS Labs Power Chords vs Powerlines? I have Digital, analog and power all 3.
Moderated Post: I have edited your post to ensure it doesn't fall on the wrong side of forum rules.

Hi Emre, I would buy the 2 Naim powerlines.
I use them and they are superb. you can really hear the difference.

Those JPS leads look interesting, with one for digital sources that apparently makes it sound more analogue, one for lower power things like preamps, and one for power amps. And there was me thinking that you could plug a lead into anything.

Presumably your 300 is a DR model?
Try some (or a lot of!) Super Lumina.
Ideally, try Fraim. It is THE way to wring the best sound from Naim kit.
The XPS-DR is arguably a more synergistic power-supply for the 272 than a 555PS. That's the conclusion a 272 owning friend came to.
As ever, a good dealer is required to let you hear the options.
Have fun.
John.

With a move coming up just let the system settle for a while, you say you've already spent this years budget.
If you've funds to spare after the move it will be soon enough to audition some refinements.
