Muso receiving Classic Fm continuous buffering.

Posted by: Kittytwister on 31 May 2016

i am having continuous difficulty streaming Classic Fm. First of all the buffering on the Muso does not happen to any other internet station on 128kbs. I get no buffering only on classic fm and it's only on the Muso as I have two other internet radios and they stream classic fm ok. It just holds the station and then after a few seconds breaks down suddenly and is most frustrating. I can play by receiving classic fm by receiving it via iPhone or iPad and send it via AirPlay to the Muso. There is no buffering when this mode is chosen. So it would seem to me that the fault lies in the Muso and I have two of these delightful devices a Muso and also the qb model. Any tech person in Naim or elsewhere that would suggest a remedy would ne appreciated. I live in Ireland and hence cannot get the station only via Internet. It's playing perfectly now on my iPhone through to Muso via AirPlay . ml

And does it work on the Qb?

Thank you for the reply and query. In the QB it is not as bad I have to say. I am using that with a Devolo extender and  an Ethernet cable into the extender. I am using the large Muso  approx. one meter away from the router. Have tried using an Ethernet cable but there seems to be little or no difference. I would like to point out that I live in a rural area and speed is only 5.mbs. at its worst (we are hoping and promised   fibre in the near future) . What beats me is that I have a Roberts and Sensia radios and both of them work fine. The Muso works fine on all other stations, I have  Classic fm on my list at the top.  To narrow the problem down, its only classic fm and its only with the MJuso. Will try tonight and move the station down the list possibly in vain to see if that makes any difference. Who knows?  Would really appreciate some help or guidance. Ml

I'm not sure if your other radios use the same service, vTuner, that Naim use to provide internet radio. It's possible that there is an issue with vTuner in which case you should contact Naim support who will be able to look into it.

Thank you very much for that. I understand that Roberts use Reciva and Sensia use Pure. Will have a chat with Tech support and see can they throw any light on it for me. Appreciate help.

I am now listening to classic fm since 1830 and reception is perfect, no buffering. Strange yes?

It would take me a lot less than 186 years to get bored of listening to Classic FM

Apologies for my flippant reply earlier! Yesterday I drove from my home in balmy N Wales to cool, damp Norfolk, feeling slightly smug about the no doubt short-lived reversal of fortunes.

Hopfully, your iRadio issues have mysteriously evaporated!

No need at all, you live in a beautiful part of Wales, went up Snowden once, alas cloudy on top. Scenery thereabouts. To die for. Am going to get on to Naim tech support about these issues. First of all I will monitor it for a week and know exactly what I'm talking about.
