Dave Swarbrick R.I.P.

It has just been announced that Dave has passed away. He had been ill for a long time. An obit was even printed 10 years or so ago.

Probably best know for his fiddle playing with Fairport Convention.

Saw him as part of the Full House lineup in 1970 at a small club in Belsize Park. They did all the album stuff brilliantly, accompanied by a never-ending bucket chain of ale, followed by an hour or so of encores of Rock and Roll standards, also beer-fuelled, during which Swarbrick fiddled away without missing a note.

That is indeed very sad news.

Thankfully he left us a broad catalogue of great music. So sad.
