Uniti 1 and Muso compatibility

Posted by: Yorkshire Lad on 05 June 2016

Evening folks,

I have had my original Unity for a few years now, due to a recent change in our house I can now get a Muso to play in the kitchen / diner to compliment it. Does anyone know if the two items are compatible in the sense of doing multiroom, so to allow the same music to play on both simultaneously?

thanks in advance

I have this combination and the multi room feature works with, the HOWEVER is that it is only possible to set this up from the Muso. Enjoy your multi room listening!

There was a recent thread about the same subject https://forums.naimaudio.com/to...-naim-unity-quote-v1 (well almost the same!)

If you have an original 96khz Uniti, you can't.

You can check this by checking under settings - Factory settings - system status and look for BC SW: if it starts with 2d it's the 96k version, 3d is the newer 192khz version.

However, you can upgrade the Uniti to 192khz spec with a streamer board change, which will also allow for Spotify and Tidal support. Contact your dealer, they should be able to price/fit it for you.

As J Saville says except that if it's an original Uniti I believe you can still put the necessary firmware in (which I think is 3.2 or later) even if it doesn't have the  193 kHz board but it's true that you would in that case have to use the Muso as the master if you want to multiroom.
