( klugelarm )

Thanks all comments appreciated as I am relatively new to the world of vintage Naim....

Ideally change them NA322 MM boards and then use an MM cart. The Kugelarm isn't best suited to modern MC cartridges, although the Denon DL103 (fairly prehistoric but can be fun and very musical in the right deck/arm) might just work out OK and some have reported it to work very well indeed in the TD-150 MkII with "Kugelarm".  The Denon should work just fine with 323S boards.

Thanks Will probably go down the denon DL103 route..as the 322 boards seem like hens teeth to get hold of...Or I could get the cards that turn the input into a line stage 328..?? and use an off board naim mm phono stage.  stageline..?? Just trying to keep everything chrome bumper as It is a talking point with people when they visit....Decisions decisions..

Try the Denon - it might just be fab and as MCs go, it's a classic and one of the great bargains in hifi having hardly increased in price since the '70s.

Having said that 322 boards are not that hard to get hold of from the usual places. You just need to be a little patient and they'll crop up .

I couldn't agree more. I've got one on my LP12/Ittok LVII trough a 72 with S boards and it's pretty gorgeous. The only down side is that it has a plastic body which prevents it being tightened enough to the headshell like I wanted to.

I'm tempted to send it to the States to have it installed in an aluminium body which is not that expensive and a apparently transforms it into an altogether different animal.

To Kota's point -- I just put a Zu Audio DL-103 (aluminum body) on my LP12/Aro/'Geddon/Stageline S, and I couldn't be happier. It strikes me as the most "Naim-like" cartridge I've heard -- big, bold, locks right in on the beat.

The S boards seem to work just fine with the 103.

Now that I've been happy with my vinyl setup for all of 20 minutes, I'm naturally thinking about which SUT to pair with the 103...

To elaborate on the above. I have a similar predicament.  I recently procured a 32.5 and was temporarily using the MM boards from my 32 for my LP12 with AT95e cart.  However, I have had to swap them back so now can't decide whether to get some MM boards for the 32.5 or just get a new MM cart which would save a lot of faffing.  I thinking it's a 32.5K, but I know it's defo an MC type cart required.   Do Naim sell new MM boards for the older amps, or would it need to be sourced elsewhere.  OR, should I should go with an MC cart? Thanks

Lewis, Naim no longer make spare NA3xx boards.  However there are loads out there, many with Naim dealers of long standing, so sourcing them secondhand isn't too hard.

Thanks Richard.  Would it be more worthwhile to do this and stick with the ATA95 cart or go for a Denon MC cart with the existing boards you think? (we need a contemplative smiley - insert here)
