Hello fellow naimers does anyone have any experience of mains cables,i use russ andrews wondered if anyone had preferences ta
Yep - Naim PLs are excellent - have them on my CDP, 2 HCs and 250. I also have a Chord Sarum TA PL on my turntable.
Regards,
Lindsay
I use TQ. Fantastic! I have both ultra blue and the black.
+1 for the TQ, and +1 for the PL
You've also got the new Powerline Lite
i find mains leads to be very worthwhile

Steady on don't blow a fuse!!!!
That reMAINS to be seen!
I hope it reMAINS connected .............. but seriously folks. Ian, you've asked a simple question & as with mains cable threads in the past, you might be in for a bit of nonsense. (forum search is a good idea) It will help us all to better understand what you are trying to do & with what; why not put your system detail on your forum profile, & tell us what these new mains cable(s) will be connected to. I personally find that mains cables don't give much bang for buck as with IC cables. I've tried a few of the mid/high end cables & TBH I don't hear much difference. That said, I make my own using quality screened cable & well made (but not mad price) plugs & sockets so maybe I'm in a good place already.

Anymore of this nonsense and I will 'socket' to you...
And you're not allowed to 'plug' other commercial websites on this forum.
Inky blackness when I use my right choice of them..
can feel the air energised more. Those trousers flaps more around those tapping toes.
Time to bring this thread back down to "Earth" .
To the OP I have had decent performance gains with good quality mains cables. I have a TQ Blue on my SN2 and a Studio Connections Carbon on my 250DR . Both recommended .

No need to FLEX you muscles in such a threatening manner

Does the type of cable matter if you only play AC/DC?

Yes I started to notice that the quality of your electricity supply also has a considerable impact on the performance of your kit. So if you want to hear Angus Young like he is in your room (if that's what you really really want....), then also power lines matter. I right now have the Naim Powerlines but will consider upgrading the mains distribution.
I wonder if the electicity company realise their power lines aren't Powerlines...
I substituted mains cable enclosed to SU, probably 3x 0,75, with 3x2,5 shielded. Big step, maybe jump forward with practically negligible cost.
I shall reMAIN Neutral on this Live debate. ![]()
But I will say that Russ Andrews do a particularly fine range of power cables which are good vfm and in a clear hierarchy. You also get an extended home trial of 3 months before you have to return them, and there's an upgrade scheme too where you can part ex your old RA power cable. I love them!

To be totally honest I don't know , I haven't compared . I always understood that the TQ blue was better for sources so I use that on my SN2 pre . I had tried Studio connections interconnects a year or so ago along with many others and really liked it but I chose TQ black diamond eventually, partially due to a good deal .
Anyway when I was thinking of a new power lead for my 250DR a few months ago I came across good reviews of the Carbon and tried one out at home on sale or return and its still here . In fact I don't think I've unplugged it .. It sounded good from the off , it just added to the 250 strengths nicely and I was happy with the price .
Apparently TQ and Studio Connections have a similar design ethos , So I'm told anyway . Luckily my ears like them both which is what matters .

Yep, dynamics, power, micro dynamics, bass performance and slam, timing all important in rock music.
