what if any do you use with your naim equipment

I understand the concept of how cables can affect the current flowing through them, but I guess I would struggle to spend over a grand on a cable when all the current needs to flow through a 25 pence fuse.

I also assume the cables to a hicap dont count at all?

Then don't let it run through a 25p fuse. I've had great results with synergistic research red fuses at a princely sum of £60 per fuse. They do offer a money back guarantee but i was more than happy to keep mine.

Why would you assume that?

Mains cables are overrated.

Really? I find then rather useful... without one the kettle remains resolutely cold, and then tea just doesn't taste the same!

Surely Mr Fish means they are overrated for current or voltage?

Having followed HH for a while, I doubt that's what he meant CharlieP

Quite so. If one reads the OP's question literally, the meaning becomes clear.

Take a closer look at his profile picture.

Ice Age Audio copper/copper on my NAP 110, AV Options Tibia Plus on my DAC V1 and UQ, all three footers. For less than a third of one powerline they've all brought a tremendous lift to the sound of my system. Sound was bit worrisome at times during burn-in but a week on all settled in nicely. Might have gone all Ice Age, but not enough room to finagle three of those fat pipes between the wall and gear vs the Tibias.

Hi All

May I suggest you try Belden 19364 @£6.95 per metre ( it will not break the bank as a DIY cable), or look up MCRU No 27 mains power lead which I think uses 19364 cable, it has a recommendation by Malcolm Stuart for use as a Mains cable on a Naim system on the Cables R Us website. I have it on my Naim system and it made a huge difference, I would love to know what you think if you have tried it.

Davie R, what kit are you using the beldens on and did they replace the standard black supplied cables. Was the improvement big ?

HI,

For full Naim systems , PowerLines gave it the best balance. SQ - Live

Hi,

I suggest tray PowerLines, and your system gave it the best balance. SQ - Live, plus with Synergistic Research red fuses at a princely sum of £60 per fuse or HiFi Tuning fuses of £45. .... And the Music flow.  Enjoi

Hi steve

My system consists of Naims, Cd5xs, flatcap xs, Nac 202 with hicap olive, Nap 200 all connected with snaic and Neat speakers using chord epic on a quadraspire rack . I was  using  the standard  black  cables supplied. All  i can is just  try  19364 on your  cd player first . At £6.95 a meter what have  you  to lose Steve.  My brother used it on his naim cd5i and said he could not believe the improvement. He was  very sceptical  at first. If you give it  a go Steve D.I.Y remember to conect the drain wire to the wall plug end only. Hope you enjoy the results. Would  be nice if you could let  us know what  you think of them
