Power Supply for a CD 3.5

Posted by: nsajuve on 11 June 2016

Hi everyone. I own a pretty humble system ( compared to what i think most of you guys have ) :

I have been thinking about a power supply upgrade since i read an article on stereophile about their importance in a system's performance. Since the Nait 5si doesn't allow an external ps connection i thought i could upgrade the cd3.5's perfermonce by adding one. Now my doubts are about the compatibility of the new power supplies with the cd 3.5 ( which is relatively old ) .

The plan is to buy a power supply in order to improve the system's overall performance and to guarantee a future upgrade of the Nait 5si. So it must have 2 outputs and it must be compatible with my cd 3.5.I didn't find any websites etc that could have answered my questions. So here i am...

Searching the web i came across a used flatcap 2x.  Can it be a choice? And if the answer is no :

Which Power Supply should i get to :

  1. Be compatible with the Cd 3.5.
  2. Allow a future upgrade of my Nait 5si.

Thank you in advance,

AB

Ok... That's what i thought... So a good setup would be a flatcapxs which powers the cd 3.5 and the naitxs at the same time...

Ahahah... Yeap... I think my ears for now are not worth any further upgrades.

Just an OT question : Since i have experienced a couple of ERR messages lately from my cd 3.5... are they even repairable?

Does anyone know the estimated cost?

Thanks in advance.
