Windows10 app for Superuniti ?

Posted by: robin-hobart on 14 June 2016

Hello; I'm a new SuperUniti owner - and new to Naim Forums.

What is the current best recommendation re controlling a SU from Windows 10?

Have had a poke about already - the Beeka Namote link no longer works.

Android with an emulator like Bluestacks?  Anything cleaner out there?

Got an iPhone - but much prefer a big screen - like the Squeezebox web app - hence my query.

Cheers.

The Naim apps are iOS (Apple) & Android (Google),  no Win-10.     I suspect sometime in the future it might become available as the new generation of common software gets into the market - but please don't hold yer breath.   MicroSoft Surface is the obvious tablet/PC Windows crossover.

I've looked around for something that works on my Win-10 PC,  but nothing gets close,  but in anycase I much prefer the smaller iPad Mini for both screen & use in a listening environment.

It looks like Kinsky is available for Windows.  I can use the Mac version to control my Qute, so this should work for you.

NB - By "control" I mean play music from the network sources, and control volume.  I cannot select inputs and otherwise control it.

Brilliant Bart !   Never heard of it - downloaded fine - seems to be a sorta Linn product?

But as you say, I can select my music, control tracks, volume. Does all I need,  Mine old eyes are very grateful.

Bloody marvelous.

I'm glad it worked out!  Sometimes I'm sitting in my easy chair, reading stuff on my Macbook, and want to turn on the music NOW. It IS convenient to just use Kinsky on the Mac.  It's a little wonky sometimes, but lately it's been behaving.

You could also try Asset Control from Illustrate (makers of dbPowerAmp). I don't think it's being developed further but the existing beta works fine on Win 10.

Bart my thanks as well. I wanted something that would work on an iMac and this is perfect. Though having shelled out £300 for an ipad I wish I had asked in here first!

Thx Bart for the suggestion. Seems to work well.  Saves me the arduous task of having to pick up my phone to select music
