SL Speaker Cable Plugs

How is it that the sleeves on the plugs become slightly loose - less than 1/8 of a turn? I find, when cleaning, that I have to check the plug sleeves from time to time to make sure they're still tight. What's causing them to come loose? Seems worse at the speaker end than the amp end.
