272 update ..... added 555ps

Not surprised! Would like to hear that difference myself. 500 I think you mean, 5-series is something else...

I would imagine this would allow the 272 to give more detail/space to recordings.....one last thing ... love the 5 series case work.

Excellent result, Richieroo. Probably worth just sitting back and enjoying the result for a while before thinking about DRing the 555PS....and bear in mind that a DR upgrade and service is about £2k, so not trivial.

I found it more cost effective to trade in the old 555 against a new one as I was offered a great deal. It may be worth having a ring around before servicing and upgrading yours.

Hi re upgrade ....I have heard others say that it is cheaper to px. Since 555ps Dr is 6k!!!! .... even if I got say 50% ha ha ..... it would still cost 3K. ....so I don't know how it stacks up...... maybe they are px on ex dem units at say 4.7k ish. ... then getting 2.5k for supply.....

The upgrade is around 1.8k +vat..... hmmm
