Vortexbox

Just searched the forum and came across the discussion in this link here:

In the discussion Peter raised these points:

*The Vortexbox server works fine and finds most CD details - even some Danish ones - without problems. However, the Cover Art finder is very poor - one of the Beatles Anthology disks was paired with a Tom Petty Anthology cover, another with yet another artist ... not very good. This clearly needs to be worked on.

*The Ripping engine is based on CDParanoia and it matches two separate rips to ensure that the rip is good. However, it would be nice to have Vortexbox compare each "good" rip with an accurate rip database.

His comments were based on version 1.5.

Does anyone know if the cover art finder works better now and how good the ripping engine of a Vortexbox is, i.e are the rips bit perfect?

Many thanks

Haven't explored VB cover art options, but CD Paranoia is superb. XLD and Max both use CD Paranoia - though XLD has other choices. Have a read about CD Paranoia - please click here
