Is it safe for Supercap DR to output NAP 300 DR and nSUB simultaneously?

I ask this question as I recall a post by Adam Meredith once saying that it might overload the Supercap (or was it referring to headline?). I cannot find the forum, however, but I am tempted to connect up my nSUB and increase the base, now I have room.
Would doing this damage the Supercap DR?
I used to have Linn sub with 135s, 52, supercap. The output to the sub came from the supercap and of course the supercap connected to the 135s.
Would therefore assume this is ok.

It's absolutely fine.
More specifically, the Naim power supplies FC, HC, SC, 552PS provide these additional audio outputs specifcally for this sort of thing, be it bi-tri amping or feeding another device with a variable preamp signal - such as a sub while decoupling that end device from the sensitive preamp.
You need to be a bit careful - the output wasn't designed to drive long cables. If you use the Naim sub cable (DIN4-RCA) then you'll be fine as it has been carefully calculated and also slugged to prevent any instability.
However, I think that taking a high level signal from the speakers is probably the better way of doing it.
HI Richard
I have that concern about earthing again, I asked REL and they said their quake sub has signal earth connected to mains earth, so if I connect that to my speaker terminals, does it create any problems in terms of an earth loop?
That is one reason I upgraded my Speakers (now they can go down to 32HZ) because of all this complication with signal earthing and the sub !

I recall jamming with the Grateful Dead - although they resolutely refuse to return my calls.
Headline - likely to overload (with earthing problems) powered AUX 2 output of preamplifiers.
Long leads off preamplifiers/power supplies (as detailed by Richard) - possibility of instability. Rectified by judicious use of resistor padding.
I will be adding 'Answers to Things I Didn't Say' to the FAQ section. Now, that's difficult to find.

I would have thought probably not. The n-sub has a signal earth switch that can be used to avoid any hum problems.

He might be asking about a REL.
Yes, I realise that. Just wanted to put in a little plug for the n-Sub...

Yes - a fantastically sorted product - especially within a Naim system.
Has anyone ever tried two n-CENTs as a stereo pair?
I've always been curious - and, specifically, about this.
The n-Sub was low bass done properly. Sensibly sized driver in a sealed cabinet with a decent range of configuration options (and a meaty single NAP250 based (IIRC ?) driving amp). Great product.
The nSub has been unobtainable Stateside in the 10 years I have had my cherry nSats. If you want to put in a plug for it, Richard, do that at the factory. No kidding. Think about all the satellite speakers which would benefit from a re issue of the nSub!
Skip, if I ever had any influence at the factory, those days are probably now long gone. But ultimately, as with most of Naim's speakers, the n-Sub was misunderstood, underbought and undersold.
Can I get my nSUB mono 250 amp section upgraded to DR spec? ![]()
