PMC twenty.22 burn-in

Posted by: Mark Cane on 02 July 2016

Hello All

I recently upgraded my speakers from PMC TB2+ to PMC Twenty.22 and i am finding the burn-in period of 50 hours very long and frustrating.

I am half way through and although much improved from when out of the box, i am still lacking richness in the mid range.  What are other forum owner's experiences during this period - am I going to see significant changes still getting past 50 hours???

Regards

Mark

Just another 24 hours Mark !!

find out and let us know

50 hours is just a guideline... it could be more but.. wait till it crosses the 100 hours mark to dray and specific conclusions - IMO..

PMC's assertion that the speakers take 50 hours to run in is vastly optimistic. They will continue to improve for several months. Just forget about the run in and enjoy your music. Have you got them on the bespoke PMC stands, as they make a big difference?

I purchased my PMC .22's a month ago and left them playing for a week to break in when I went on holidays. They sounded great when I came back but it still feels they are even improving more. I really enjoy how my music sounds at the moment.

@Hungryhalibut -

Admittedly i am not using the PMC stands as that would have stretched my budget.

So you think they will eventually be quite different to what i am hearing now?

My (former) .23s were a bit congested and flat for about 75hrs before settling.

My 26s continued to improve over the first 6 months, just relax and enjoy.

I should add they sounded fantastic from the off but just got better over time.

My 20.23's took a week to start showing what they could really do and continued to settle for weeks after that.
