To DR or not DR?.

Hi forum members

I am currently using a Nac 202 pre amp ,with a Nap 200, with a Napsc & Hicap .The source is a CD5 with a flatcap 2 , & SBL MK2 speakers.

The system has a dedicated mains supply.

Would a Hicap DR, on the 202 make a marked improvement?, or would a Hi line for the CD5 be of more reward in sound improvements.

Yes, the HiCapDR really transforms the 202 over the non DR. More so than the 282 in my experience. The NAC becomes faster sounding with tighter bass, seemingly more resolving and generally better all around.

Thanks for your reply.

I will look into upgrading the Hicap to DR. It is a 2008 model so may be due a service at some time in the near future. I will get the two things done at the same time.

Coincidentally, took my HiCap in today for return to base and upgrade to DR status.

Cleaner and more resolved sound with no loss of PRAT, was my conclusion after demo.
