250 modded to DR; any burn-in period?
Posted by: James L on 15 July 2016
Hi!
As above...
Just taken delivery of my modded 250.
Can I expect a burn-in period?
Sounds pretty good out of the box ![]()
TIA
Of course you should expect a burn in period.
From there it's all a slow decline to the next service interval
.
In the mean time enjoy.
Ten hours in...
A DR'ed 250 certainly brings the ability to handle dynamic swings to the party.
And the music of course sounds way more intense and immediate.
Amazing! ![]()
Hi had mine upgraded a couple on months ago ...... first switch on did not sound very good.....it took a week to sound somthing like and after a further 3 weeks .... it was amazing.....
Let it play - use radio etc 24/7 - and be patient.
...mine appears to still be improving ..... so I think it can go on for around 3 months.....
Cheers hope this helps...

Amp is more forward sounding than originally. Hopefully this will taper off over time....
My upgraded 250DR sounded good on the first day, then kept getting better day after day. By one week it sounded more elegant and insightful. It has now been playimg music for over three weeks and is quite wonderful. If it improves further, as some have reported, then I look forward to that. Naim have really "hit the ball out of the park" on the new DR amplifiers. I am so very much appreciating the music here.

My new 250DR was very good straight out the box but I reckon it took 3 months and then wow. at the risk of hyperbole and being evangelical I promise you there are few amps like this on the planet. Best never let me hear a 500DR!!!!

Hi ... when I first go mine the sound was super smooooth & creamy - detailed and it sounded a little foggy.... not explicit in the mid band. As time elapsed - the clarity and stereo improved dramatically and the base tightened right up....
