Linn Krystal and Cryo treated 576 R ZPlug combined.

This latest development might need some qualification.

First examine my naim system profile as I do not often post . Just to give some sort of benchmark for proceedings.

Recently on another blue forum I reported on my visit to Cymbiosis. This culminated in the purchase of a Linn Krystal and 576 R cryo treated Z plug. Peter Swain allowed a thorough listening evaluation to take place between the differences of my then existing Dyna XX2 versus the Krystal. The likely outcome and some of my initial findings here at home are to be read elsewhere. For my latest update on how things are going at 42 hours thought it worthwhile to report in here.

After many years in this game we all know making improvement proclamations assumes a lot of things. I need to admit my system is not orthodox in setup entirely. Also my attention to little things remains. Most of the tuning tips mentioned here and elsewhere I give it a go. Many are just tiny changes or sideways moves. Some worse but the good ones add up over the years including regular servicing and review. All good harmless fun.

So here is my particular list of areas to consider that just might relate to this thread. Placing these bits in because there has not been that much turntable overview lately and some of the newer guys may be interested.

If using Aro arm make sure the grub screw is only nicked very lightly just enough to hold the arm up on the pillar.

With Superline. Lock the BNC plugs only very slightly.

With Accurate Radikal. Try placing a weight on the outer casing. Experiment.

With Skale. Use tiny blocks of sponge to help find tracking sweet spot. ( Can explain to any interested )

And finally to throw one other into the mix that surprises. The Tellurium system refresh disk.

There are others and sometimes it is a culmination that brings it all together. Now with the Krystal and Cryo Zplug this has maybe happened. I was genuinely worried about this upgrade as my system was already at its modest price point delivering beautifully . Previously sounding superb with the XX2 and the ordinary untreated resistive plug. But now this is totally transformational. So much more easy to enjoy and love the music. I could go on and on like we all do on these occasions. But this is it guys the really big one for me in this particular system.

Thank you Peter yet again at Cymbiosis.
