UnitiQute 2 Newbie

Hi

I'm about to take my first step into Naim streaming starting with my office system which is currently Sonos Connect amp driving Neat Iota speakers on my desktop, speakers on Iso acoustics stands. The Connect amp will be replaced by a UnitiQute 2. My house currently has 5 Sonos zones all working well and have been for many years. Music is predominately 2000+ CD's ripped via XLD to FLAC residing on a QNAP TS- 221 NAS. So far so good...I think.

Reading various posts on this forum I'm going to try  Asset as the server software. My rips are all in a folder that I've called "XLD-FLAC" this resides in the QNAP "Music" folder. Question, where should I download the Asset software to, the "Music" folder or the actual "XLD-FLAC" (containing all the rips) which is within the "Music" folder?

Many thanks for any help.

Best

Chris

You don't really "download" Asset onto the nas, you "install" it.  It will install into the right place, which is independent of the folder system you use for files.  After it's installed and you run it, you can point it to your music (I seem to recall).

Many thanks Bart,I've had a look at the Asset website and there are installation instructions on there, so will give it a try!
