My HDX shows all the NAS drive albums but won't play

Posted by: Peter Tompkins on 01 August 2016

I have checked that I have set the NAS password.  I have tried to take off the firewall but that makes no difference.  I can reach the NAS drive albums using Windows Explorer and play them on my phone or PC as WAV files but I cannot get n-Serve to play them using the NAIM directly.  Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Hi Peter. If nothing has changed in your network setup first thing to try is to shut down all modems/routers, wifi extenders, NAS drive, computers etc and the HDX and repower everything in that order. Often sorts the NAS itself out.

Peter - is your HDX SSD? What NAS?

Is this an HDX-SSD? How is it connected to the nas?  And how is it connected to the rest of your system?

Have you checked that the share on the NAS is showing as "enabled" on the HDX ?

I have a UnitiQte with a similar issue, I had a Votexbox server, CD's ripped in FLAC, files backedup up on a Netgear ReadyNAS. The Qte read and loaded everything from the Vortexbox, however, the ReadyNAS, in the most part give me a file read error. However, when I use Plex media server on my PC, with the ReadyNAS music files, the Qte has no issue playing them?

I forgot to mention the hard drive on the Votexbox stopped working, hence the need to use the backup
