Adding music to Audirvana library

Posted by: Will99 on 02 August 2016

I have my music on a NAS, connecting via ethernet to my Mac Mini, on which I run Audirvana + (not in iTunes integrated mode).

When I rip a new cd to the NAS, the only way I have found to update the Audirvana library is to go in to Preferences / Library and press the 'sync' button next to the NAS folder name. This has 'Manual' next to it instead of 'Auto'.

The user guide taks about music automatically being pushed to Audirvana just by being added to the folder specified in the Audirvana library settings, but also says this does not happen to 'network volumes' - which I imagine means anything not on the same machine as Audirvana + itself.

Is there any other way that is easier than the above (not that this is particularly onerous but the auto update sounds good ....) ?

I have the same config and have to force synchronisation of NAS folders each time I update that network volume; as you've found, it's not particularly onerous - unless you don't have a screen/keyboard or screen share the MM

Ok thanks. I was wondering if there was a way to select the new files and add only those to the library, rather than sync the whole music library. I was thinking that might be quicker.

No problem if not though

I'm not sure but i thought it auto synced after the first batch as done?
