Nait 2 vs statement?

well we do seem to be in the silly season here, so I thought why not?
olive Nait 2 by the way.
Nait 2 - lot less space required.
Nait 2 - far, far cheaper and I suspect much better VFM.
Only if it's the deep freeze version.

Nait2, so cute!
Nait 2
Even if I was earning Mayweather $ I'd still feel like spending that much on an amp was kind grotesque. Just my 2c
Little chance of buyer's remorse with the Nait 2, and the upgrade path is clear. Statement could leave you wondering ... "maybe I should have bought that summer cottage instead, ... and put a Nait 2 system in it?"
If your speakers are at 95DB+ then that would be very interesting.
I rather suspect (hope) that the Nait would have a very similar character to the Statement - the essence of Naim. I would expect the Statement to be considerably more capable in terms of sonics.

So buying effective loudspeakers means money saved, if both amplifiers basically sound quite similar with same volume level
+1 for the Nait 2. It's usually better to travel than to arrive, apparently......
Nait 1 with factory service here. Utterly spellbinding little thing.
...so could one live with the Nait2 as the main amp without NAP300/252 etc? Just this little amp and a nice pair of speaker and call it a day?

Easily
Similar performance as olive/CB 250/HC/72 but scaled down, even a touch more "Integrated" in its sound, not the power & dynamic of the bigger toys but on matching speakers = 88-89db+, small room, moderate SPL, there's a reason for current value - in fact some people ignored everything else between hiearchy of above amps back then, this provide sort of Deja'vu today.
But Not a fan of the black boxes

Definitely.
This is what I have been doing for sometime now. I didn't quite get up to 252/300 (202/200 w NapSC and HiCap and CDX2) but I now have a CB Nait 2 with an AURALiC Aries Mini, Rega Apollo R, Sony CDP 337esd and a RP6 as sources. The Nait drives the fantastic Guru Juniors. Life is simple and the music just flows. I don't listen at huge volumes but when I want to rock out the little shoebox does not disappoint. The only itch is to get a Mytek Brooklyn DAC..
So again, yes, a Nait 2 is all you need to be happy.

The secret is to resist temptation to sell it. Hide it in a safe place then spend a fortune on other toys. Afterward you can always comeback to your little gem! ![]()

Exactly what I have done.. The Nait2 (CB) is stored in a cupboard...

My CB NAIT 2 is kept next to the bed. There's also a very early original NAIT to keep it company...
A nait 1 or 2 simply cannot do what Statement does. And its unreasonable to ask it to do so.
However....
A nait 1 into suitable speakers is still a hugely enjoyable experience, and it punches well above its weight. Its a testament to the engineering skills of Naim at the time that it is still relevant and interesting. And a testament to naim that their service department can still (I believe) provide factory servicing.

First nod for the Statement? Seems rather surprising.
Granted, Statement owners are a relative minority here, but so far a silent minority.
More likely, they just smile a contented Cheshire cat's grin and move on.
