I just figured out the NAPSC that was bundled with my NAC 202 is different from the one that came with the NAC 282. Picture as below.
The NAPSC on the left came with the NAC 202. I presume this one is the older NAPSC. The one on the right came with the NAC 282. I presume this one is the NAPSC 2.

Question. The NAPSC on the left, is this supposed to come with the NAC 202? Or it's meant for the older Olive or Chrome Bumper preamps?
Any information would be appreciated.

The one on the left is the older (Olive) type. It came with the NAC82 as standard or you could purchase it separately as an upgrade for the NAC102 or as a PSU for the Headline. It can also be used on the NAC202 or Headline2.
The one on the right is the later (and improved) NAPSC2.

I think there are some on here who have said they found the latest NAPSC gives better performance on the 82/282 compared to the old one
Oh and latest NAPSC, not having a captive mains lead, can take a PowerLine which elevates the 282's performance still further

The 202 does not come with any naps and does not require one. Either version can be added to the 202,some claim it to be a (relatively) inexpensive upgrade. I've added hcdr to my 202 but not a napsc. Napsc does come standard with 282.

NAPSC 2 is a good addition to 202. Never tried the older version ,,anyway DON'T underestimate its 'presence' , also , I've been told it still benefits from a better power chord. Again , as always with the brand ,that should teach everyone any aspect should be thought of.

I tried a different power cord on my NAPSC with 202 and later 282 using the Powerline and heard absolutely no difference .. Not even a subtle presentation difference.. and I can usually hear the difference between different UPnP media servers, and Ethernet cables running close to FM aerial downleads.. so I can only assume the differences observed may be down to local grounding arrangements.

Maybe ,personally I'm using the stock cable there, so can T comment But tend not to disagree with one's experiences when one has proved to have a lot of knowledge(he owns a 282)
Anyway I didn T really mean to advice a cable change But that one should try the napsc, carefully choose between models ,eventually even try if possible an other cable etc.
