I recently purchased a NAIM NAC62/NAP140 and it sounds gorgeous, really happy with it, it's melodic and charming, re-listening to my music collection through it has been amazing, hearing things in the music that I never heard with my Cyrus amplifier,
But, HIFI man I am not, I just want to listen to music,
I'm currently playing through my iPad with a jack-to-din interconnect from flashback and am more than happy,
However, after reading the forum it seems this isn't ideal so I bought a Chord Crimson DIN-to-RCA interconnect to see what my CD player sounds like through it,
After receiving completely the wrong lead through the post the Crimson arrived today and it doesn't work,
Am I missing something here?
Thank you for any help proffered as I'm at the end of my tether with these DIN type interconnects!

Does sound strange, a regular DIN to RCA or vica versa will work. A DIN to RCA that refers to itself as tape out or headphone out won't work.. as the wrong pins in the DIN plug will be wired up so I can only assume that is what you have. If you are handy with a soldering iron you could check and change if necessary.

"Whats a soldering iron"
(smileyface)
On the outside of the box it says...
pins 1 and 4 tape out,
So I think I defo have the wrong arrangement,
I'll send it back and get a refund,
Will the Flashback 2xphono/RCA - 5pin ring locking DIN performance cable work please?
Thanks again for your time and help,
The only reason I chose the NAIM NAC/NAP was the nice green colour on the front, so I'm a bit lost with all this malarkey, does sound gorgeous though,

If you tell Flashback what the cable is for, they will make sure you get the right one. They understand Naim gear, and are very helpful. If you're not sure, give them a call and they will be able to sort you out. Having said that, I'm sure the same must be true of Chord so maybe you can do a swap with the one you've bought?

Jarvic, you have a TAPE OUT wired DIN 5 on that Crimson rather than a source OUT DIN 5. It's not a common one at all - normally there will be TAPE IN and TAPE OUT with 4 RCA phonos at the other end, but Chord will make up just a TAPE OUT interconnect to order.
Anyway, that's all by the by,. Bottom line is that you have the wrong lead. You just need a standard Crimson RCA - DIN5 interconnect.

I'll try and return it for the correct one,
Any recommendations apart from the Flashback and the Crimson please?
Is the Chord Cobra worth the extra?

Th chrysalis was a musical cable, more so than some of their more expensive offerings of the time, The crimson is the nearest they do now and it's working fine between NAD 4020A and 552.
