Album Art.

I've done a search to try and find some help with an issue changing album art, but to no avail.

First of all, having ripped the album "Live at the Regal" by BB King, the album art displayed was incorrect.

Strange in itself, since this is a very well known album, I'd have thought.

Unable to find an "edit" option within the Naim app on my iPad, I opened the iPad nServe app instead, and via "edit", did the online lookup  and selected the correct album cover.

All looking fine at this point, both in the Naim app and nServe, with the cover displaying correctly in both.

However, once the album is selected, the cover art defaults to the Naim generic icon, though once playing, if I tap the album info "bookmark", I have the correct artwork shown there, though it reverts to the Naim one on the "playing now" screen.

Weird or what?

I'm clearly going about things incorrectly, so any ideas would be most welcome.

Finally, is there no "edit" option within the Naim app, on an iPad, or is it available only in nServe?

It's all about the music.................but still.

Dave

Try clearing the image cache in both apps. This may take several attemps, with a large number of albums on your server.

Forgot to mention: in some instances I found that the correct album art appeared only after a few days.

Another thing: do make sure that the image you upload from the internet is actually a true JPG / JPEG. Otherwise it will not display correctly.

Cheers Adam,

Clearing the cache seems to have done the trick, insofar as the correct album art is displaying in the "now Playing" window, though I'm still getting the Naim one on the initial screen when selecting the album.

I'll prod the "clear cache" button a few more times, and hopefully that'll resolve things 100%.

Still can't see an edit facility within the Naim app though, only within nServe?

Thanks again.

That is correct,

Naim app is only for streamin the music from any type of a seever on your network.

nServe is for managing Naim servers like UnitiServe or HDX - settings as well as content.

I used to find my streamer could be quite slow to see changes to metadata, especially artwork. Curiously, as soon as I fully wired my whole network (to the router too, not just between server and streamer) changes show up instantly every time. Please don't ask me to explain this!

As Adam says, you can't edit what's on your US with the Naim app, N-Serve is the one to use.
