NAP200 Buzz
Posted by: Mark Carwardine on 21 August 2016
I hear a buzz coming from my (2014) NAP 200 when I turn it on, the buzz does not come from the speakers but the unit itself. Is this normal?
Thanks,
Mark

Yes it is normal, assuming its more of a hum than a buzz. Its the transformer. If you do a search there are many posts on the subject.

Hundreds, if not thousands. The search facility is a wonderful thing.
is it always the same or does it vary from time to time?
If it's constant and unvarying, then that's usually due to the transformer itself.
If it varies, that can be an indicator that the waveform of the mains electricity supply is distorted.
This can either be because a distorted waveform is being supplied to your property, or because of other electrical devices inside your house.

Normally I have no hum but a few days ago all amps and power supplies were quietly humming away, but now they are quiet again, I wonder what happened somewhere else.
My xps has been humming for 15 years ![]()
You'd have thought it'd have learnt the tune by now! ![]()
