What will be the next new Naim component ?

I think with the desire for less boxes and maintaining Hi end sonic qualities Naim will bring out the first Active speaker (in its range of present products) which will combine Naim electronics with Focal speakers. Whether the Active system will contain a) Poweramps b) Poweramps and preamps or C) Preamp, poweramps and DAC - I cannot predict. The new system will be the first to marry Naim and Focal together?
Focal have just brought out an active Loud speaker.Sorry don't know the model but it has an inbuilt digital to analogue converter.I think it retails for £1500.
As for Naim a Statement integrated would be a exciting product in the future
Wish they made an LP player, rather than wifi convenience /app type sit in your seat and play half a song then the next .
372! I think with a specialized brand like Focal they wont focus on speakers, or make the mistake of just adding naim badge to Focal speakers with cosmetic changes! No more RnD budget for speakers! Way to manage two brands in different categories.
Yes a DAC is a must to compete with chord loving hugoists!

But a DAC needs some input. Thus, it would perhaps be time for a small, smart family of servers to compete with the Sonores, the Melcos, the Aries, etc. I would be surprised if the USs, the HDXs and perhaps even the NDXs would find it easy, these days, to find their way from the retailers' shelfs to the living rooms of new customers.
Statement level power cables. Super luminaline. 2 metres and £2.500 each
I second for a N372
A Class A amplifier, maybe an NAP A75 (75 WATTS) Now that would be great considering many use smaller speakers.

Cables at £2.500 would indeed be welcome, as opposed to cables as £2,500
An entry level integrated + streamer with Class D amplification circa 200 Watts. Something spawned from the Muso but with traditional speaker output terminals and analog input for a TT phono stage (maybe power a Stageline). It will put the Nait 5 line to final rest.
Nait 5 line to rest ? No way.
It was just revised recently, can't see it going anywhere, it is a iconic product and will remain forever a part of the Naim product line.
I think a 372, but I hope for a ND555.......
A minor refresh of the preamp line (202,282, etc.) is overdue, at least bringing the input sensitivity to contemporary levels (currently too sensitive)

I hope not, as that would be a backwards step and wreck havoc with Naim sources I have such as NAT 05 or NAT03 and my beloved Hugo and CDX2. We don't want to go back to low sensitivity inputs of yester year.
I hope to see a new streaming architecture with better internal software decoupling to allow less impact to SQ from new network streaming software/firmware. My feel the current NDS, NDX and even the 272 is too fragile here.

I would like to see the shoebox return
Most users want to reduce box count and space, how about a high end pre with analogue input.
Also a dedicated streamer (UQ but with all the other bits stripped out) and a possible return for a new Nait2.
My vote goes for a pre-amp refresh - they have cascaded the Statement technology down to the power amps now its time for the pre's.
I am not yet convinced about the dual use pre-amp / streamer as in the N272 - they have to prove that they are better than a seperate pre-amp an streamer configuration;
also I am not convinced that the digital pipeline has settled down and would not want to be stuck with an out-of-date streamer inside a pre-amp box that should have a lifetime of a decade or so at least.
So I am hoping for a NAC 202, 282 and 252 replacement series ... ![]()

That would be my pick too. Although a full range volume control (retro fitable) on the pres would also be welcome.
Hoping for a Dac-v1 look-alike having streaming capabilities. Difference with the UQ must be the absence of the integrated Power Amp. Having no Integrated Power Amp means lower costs, better SQ. NDX is too expensive for me.
That'll be the 172 then.
A Super Lumina digital interconnect above the DCA1 would be nice.
Like many I suspect I'm expecting a streamer/preamp positioned above the 272, which is likely to make its way into my system unless its statement level price
i'm enjoying the music, and spoken word that my system presents today greatly and if it nothing comes along in that area, I will probably replace the 250DR with a 300DR...and a long overdue proper hifi stand
+ upgradable by power supply, so I can create a stack of:
Hicap + UQ- lookalike streamer - Nap 100
add easy to drive speakers and there is a setup which can fill up to mid sized rooms easily and exceeds the UQ solution in SQ ...
Won't happen - ever - but I wish Naim would do a blow your brains out Statement CDP.
