NAP 500 back from vacation

Posted by: Jonas Olofsson on 23 August 2016

After 4 weeks of well deserved vacation, NAP 500 today arrived at home again, in a brand new box telling me that the DR upgrade had been successful.

After an hour or two of reinstalling NAP 500 together with checking every part of the Friams, cable dressing, speaker optimisation etc, etc...I now had 5 valuable minutes to actually listen to how NAP 500 DR sounds in my system, before the children had to go to bed.

Bloody marvellous. No more, no less. Ice cold and nothing burned in yet but still...

I might get an hour on Saturday, I guess it will sound even better.

My 500 came back today too! Installed by my dealer this pm (Thanks James & Henry). I'm also super happy even from stone cold and then we swapped out the old XLRs for the SL versions .. another significant step up and i would think mandatory if you've had the DR work done!

@ Allante, no I didn't do that. It's only 3 years old, I thought it would be quite extreme even for a crazy person like me.

@ Andrew,

I guess you're quite impressed then, me too

I went the Chord Sarum route instead a couple of years ago. Especially the DIN-XLR was a major upgrade at that time.

Unfortunately I later discovered Chord Music. Out went Sarum (IC, XLR-Din, Speaker-cable) and Hello Music.

Enough upgrades now.
