What does the SUB button do on the 252 controller?

Posted by: Consciousmess on 02 September 2016

This is how unobservant I am.  I just noticed this button on my controller! Is it for the nSUB?

I tried but that appears not to be so.

Please advise!

The "sub" button must be dependant on how recent your pre-amp is. My 10 year + old 252's remote doesn't have a "Sub" button.
The 252 user manual (available to download) refers to the "Global" group of buttons but doesn't appear to say what the "Sub" button actually does....

It's a system component key and does appear to refer to sub woofer, according to my 252 manual. It says the Narcom4 handset is designed to be used with Naim audio CD players, amplifiers, tuners and subwoofers. I too have never noticed it before, but I don't have a sub!

The sub button does indeed let you control the n-sub, rather intuitive init?

It tailors the pre-amp response for use on submarines.

Anyone would have thought that the OP wouldn't need to ask.
