Problems with Spotify

I've been using my UQ2 without issue for over a year now - but recently I've had many problems with Spotify, using my phone to send it to the UQ2.
My set up is such that I have my UQ2 wired to my router, but obviously my phone is wireless.
I have an iPhone, running iOS10 - and obviously the latest version of Spotify. I can't say for sure when the problem first manifested itself but it's recent.
Hard to describe what the problems are too. I can select the UQ2 as a device in Spotify, and it'll look like it's playing on my phone (i.e. the time counter goes up) - but there's no audio. Then it'll start playing - but if i switch apps - it might stop etc. Just really unreliable and I'm unable to reliably replicate and diagnose.
Has anyone else had Spotify issues lately? Could it be an iOS10 thing perhaps?
