I don't eat meat, otherwise a sausage post might have been on the tip of my tongue.

Well, it depends on the damping factor of the sausages.
I've had about two hours sleep after an airport run for Mrs Dayjay and I really can't get my head around what is going on here. The only bit that made sense was the

If posts (plural) were - past simple plural, and the forum (singular) was - past simple singular.
He could have used the subjunctive ('were' in both cases) - but that would have been a change of mood, not tense.

if there were too many they'd simply fall off the plate.
If that were the case my Labrador would be a member.

Just get a bigger plate.
Analogous to too many post on the forum - just get a bigger server!
Then get them to work in a restaurant and serve out the sausages on smaller plates!
Problem solved.
When do they count as consumed? When read, when threads are locked, never? Though some undoubtedly start out as andouillette they don't all befall the fate of sausages once eaten.
