Hi all, an update for the Naim App has appeared for iOS10

Thanks,  4.9 - 12789.   Seems pretty OK on previous iOS versions.  Mine is iOS 9.3.5

I see Naim is telling users to ensure they are on the latest version of the streamer firmware first before updating.  Why I wonder?

I believe its because a  lot of users don't bother with f/w updates & the old f/w is designed to work with the old n-Stream app.

It's working well, I have 4.4 and iOS10, is it me or are there more animations,

or could it be that last glass of red.

I'm puzzled by the accompanying message:

'we recommend making sure your streamer is updated to version 4.4…'.

How do I update a US to version 4.4.?

You don't. The US is not a streamer and does not communicate directly with the Naim app!

Simply because the latest version of firmware will always have the latest functionality enhancements and bug fixes in it - for example we might get people saying that they've installed the latest version of the Naim app and don't see the option for TIDAL appearing even though they have a 24/192 streamer but they haven't updated their firmware on their streamer to the version that supports TIDAL yet...

Funny you say that. I've just done, or thought I've done both upgrades, and I can't access Tidal on the streamer any more

I'll need to check my versions and reinstall and if necessary....

So far, the updated app is recognising the  JRiver UPnP server much more reliably and quickly.  MinimServer has always been fine, but JRiver was always very hit and miss.  I'll see how it goes.

Appears to have been operator error. Since I had Tidal it appears I already had 4.4, but somehow downloaded and "updated" to 4.3 -doh!

I have just reinstalled 4.4, and all is well.....
