Could someone at Naim pls. tell Hoop.la to stop messing up the forum...

The new change, which now puts the navigation bar also within each single thread is just awful!!
Besides the fact that hardly anyone seems to find this section useful, it now has narrowed the space for comments even further, making for a very unpleasant reading experience.
Lots of suggestions have been provided by people here on the forum and a simple search will bring up plenty of feedback. The most recent thread "Hoop.less does itself proud..." can be found here:

Many thanks to Naim for listening to its customers.
Best wishes

Jonmark, thank you for coming here and working directly from within the forum to try to get to the bottom of the issues some of our members have had with IE. Well done to Don et al. for finding one of the potential issues. I have posted a sticky just in case anyone else is still having the same issues.
One down...
Don, I reckon your serendipity deserves at least the CD of your choice. I'll have a word with Simon, even if it has to be on me. Thanks.
Sure thang! Don, drop us a mail to info (at) naimlabel (dot) com with your details and we'll send a CD of your choosing!
Thanks,
S
Richard, Simon,
Many thanks indeed for your kind offer.
I'll enjoy browsing the Naim Label site and drop Simon an e-mail in the next day or so.
I'm just pleased I was able to help.
Cheers
Don
Don, good for you!
Nice touch from Naim too!
Everyone sorted
We have another rocky road coming .............
Windows-8
The blurb sez it borrows some features from the increasingly popular windows phone operating system, using tiles and apps on an interface that is designed for both conventional PCs as well as tablets with touchscreens, mouse and keyboard.
Internet Explorer will allow websites to take up more of the screen (sounds familiar)
Apps are also set to play a larger role (heard that before)with whole-screen programmes reminiscent of mobile apps, but able to work together and available from a Windows App Store.
Are Hoopless ahead of this or are they gonna wait for the injuns to burn the waggons first.
Can we please have a "Forums" link/button at the bottom of the page please?
Its important to keep reminding Hooples about any problems with the Forum and also any aspirational changes to the functionality.
My interpretation of their modus operandus it that if we don't complain and keep on complaining, they assume we were never serious in the first place, or that "somehow" the problem has gone away.
Cheers
Don
Is it possible that the post count doesn't work any more, just noticed that my post count has not changed over the last 100 posts or so but my community points (whatever they are) continue to grow??? For a while both seemed to be working just fine.
I do not like the new "4 hours ago", "33 minutes ago" etc way of indicating the timing of recent posts.
I much prefer seeing the previous style of "day" "month" "time" (as now retained for the more historic posts)
Cheers
Don
What's this NAIM "Users button" that has just appeared for FFS?
Why did somebody go to the bother of changing the Forums drop list down on the menu bar? Aren't there more important things for them to be doing instead of introducing yet another minor irritation?
With you on that TomK.
This is like a load of children, holding a piece of paper or a pencil to show they are doing something.
Just maybe they don't have the talent to do anything that is required but just throw a few things they can do to show that they are working.
Harsh? Maybe, but then the evidence doesn't really show much else.
Maybe full access to the NAIM info on the recent activity page. Information stops partway through, it's a pokey little box , obviously management think this is un-important?
Slightly more important than new members or who's online?
Certainly doesn't look very professional!
I sometimes get the feeling that we are guinee pigs................

Yes. That was ridiculous. Why take the time to make something worse?
Just noticed...
Recent Topics list indicated that "Any Naim owners in the Twin Cities area?" was contibuted to as recently as "24 hours ago"
In fact, Big H and others had contributed as recently as "12 minutes ago"
Looks like Hoopless are still pissing in the wind.

for whatever reason what is indicated for recent topics is the date of the original post.
for all the minor annoyances I'm probably used to the new forum now.
and in fairness what other site would let so many members openly discuss how shitty the new format is?
SJB
I have to admit, any flaws in the new forum aren't an issue for me anymore. I just enjoy it.

Ah ha!
The delights of modern technology........

I'd like to see the old forum's "view posts" link restored (if not embedded within every post at least in the user's profile). This was a quick way to find and access all of a specific user's posts for research.
Dave,
You can do that very easily using the search function.

Yes, but I do agree with Dave. "View Posts" was a very nice convenience that used a lot.
Hook
The number of personal posts function seems to be broken. Not terribly important perhaps but used to work.
We seem to have lost the ability to upload attachments, is this intentional?
