New Product Announcement on Thursday

It is something SUPER!

Actually bird told lately there are about a couple of new products to be launched. Hopefully one is some sort of  new UQ in a MU-so style box and , don't know about the other one ..

It is going to be something at the top end I think. Probably won't sleep tonight in anticipation. But to prepare myself I'm now listening to my CDX2, 282 NAP 300 SL cables system just to make sure it ain't broke. Must resist the feeling that it might be after 11.00am tomorrow!!

A number of forum members have discovered the truth and posted it with undisputable evidence. However the posts have been immediately deleted by vigilant moderators.

I caught sight of one briefly and would post details but don't want my post do be deleted or worse.

My bet is on a real all in one player a la Burmester 151 MC; Cdp, ripper, hdd (or ssd) thrown in in Muso style. I also expect  some additional features (and online services) to those offered in Uniti range and network players. It may be reassuringly expensive though.

Notwithstanding this new launch I suppose Unitis will be phased out soon. I have had the feeling that my sweet UQ2, though not obsolete, would be a heritage product in future that were loved by the masses. 

Naim are among few well established hifi companies that have big stakes in streaming. In order that it stays top of the game, it needs to keep pace with, well you know.

Looking forward to the official announcement tomorrow. I hope it would be a bold step, not a half baked stopgap measure.

Whatever is announced tomorrow, one thing that's guaranteed is that half the Forum members will be slagging it off. 

Where is everybody? I thought we were going to queue up in front of Naim Salisbury, but nobody is here ...

I guess the product strategy forward will be:

Muso range: designed in UK, built in China

Naim: designed and built in UK

So, in some perspective Naim "maybe" want to change the unity line to a muso line instead. More profitability I would guess. And who dosent need that.

I guess tomorrow will be the first step of making this move. But Im known for being wrong to tell the truth...

When Madonna launched her coffee table book "Sex" in 1992, she whipped her potential customers into a frenzy of expectation, and ensured that the book was available in all good bookshops in readiness for a midnight launch, and it sold in the hundreds of thousands, in a sealed silver bag, no preview permitted. I think Naim Audio and their agents have missed a trick here.

OK, I give up, gimme that HDX! But actually, I have a DAC, though an SSD storage/server dingi with USB-backup would be nice... Looks just like the left shoebox... tomorrow at 9, at 10? Does anyone know naim publicity habits?

I exchanged emails earlier with someone who is scheduled to be at Naim tomorrow - but gleaned nothing of the proposed announcement sadly 

Perchance the entente cordiale has broken down in the light (gloom) of Brexit and Naim is back on its Best of British ownsome...
