Any bets ??? New streamer/pre-amp, new all in one +++
must be a dac included there current ones are lagging
What Hifi have published a couple of internal pics that the technically minded may be able to deduce someting from. Looking at one of them it appears to have a digital out connection on it.
Liked the sliced visuals, shows how much DNA(IM) has gone into this.
Naim has finally found a way to build an audiophile cd-changer. It will be called CDX2.2-5
Thanks Dayjay and Andrew,
sounds like they are just trying to wind the forum up ... especially Richard ![]()
You look at the gaps in the Naim range and wonder ...
Statement level sounds like of limited interest to mere mortals unless they are then down-scaling to more friendly price points from there so I think it will be more at the £6-8k level and my guess is next pre/streamer model up from the 272.
... but then its competing against its own seperates ![]()
UnitiServ could do with a higher level cousin ?
... but then what is that volume-ish control all about?
What about an all-in-one server/streamer/pre ... connect an amp and speakers and off you go ...
Allan
There's quite a lot of detail if you freeze frame through the video.
My guess - All in one ripper, server and power amp. You can see the speaker connection on the back volume control side.
And in the What HiFi photo you can clearly make out "CD Mech" on the circuit board.
So a SuperMuso.
I agree, using the Muso aesthetic and capitalising on the popularity of that. Might include a big SSD option? I think the HDX-style solution was great for many and is in need of a significant update. Many current Muso owners are going to have modest CD collections they might be happy to rip and save on an SSD/HD.
Does look a bit like it is a two-box item though
So Muso/HDX hybrid I reckon, maybe plus power amp
Bruce
If that's what I'm beginning to think it is, they'll sell loads of it. I'm happy, because a wealthy Naim is happy us (not sure about grammar, though).
Just got 272/250DR going can't bear to see something that makes me want to chop these in already for the new toy of the moment, bah :-)
It's a sound vacuum device: sucks all the sound from your room to give complete silence, allowing you to reimagine your entire music collection, in blissful perfection in your head because there's no limitations of room, equipment, mains supply, network, digital, vinyl oe even ears. And every time you listen you can reimagine again, and every time you do so it could either 'sound' the same, or you could pick out things you'd never heard in the music before. Think of the freedom - no need for loudspeakers or amps, nor cables or racks, and you can imagine as loud or quiet as you like, neither disturbing nor disturbed by neighbours.
Naim have truly done it with this one!

This would have been the case if Naim wasn't owned by an investment company. I'm afraid that the success of the Muso ends up in a bloke having a bigger appartment in London and another Bentley.

They finally have a solution for the purring transformers!
I've changed my mind...
I think the video shows a new all in one Muso style Uniti.
The What HiFi picture shows a half width case Muso style CD ripper / server.
It's all jolly exciting.
Innocent - I think you have hit it on the head
... absolutely revolutionary ...
... but is this going to be Statement-level silence or justentry-level ... and there will have to be an upgrade path ![]()

Obviously some power supply options

Damn, it's going to make my current silence sound broken
Hmm - seems to have 4 devices bolted to the base which look a bit like output transistors so perhaps the Muso music centre idea (just add external speakers) might be a goer.
The interest in the Muso series is good for business and rather lucrative...
Isn't a mu-so music centre a UnitiQute?
I'm guessing at a revised or alternative Muso with pre/power and the capability to add your own speakers.
Along with HDd and various inputs to get your music on it.
Some owners have been calling for tone controls on the Muso and those requests have largely been ignored.
So basically a two box streamer!
Naitement?

You'd think so - perhaps nobody buys the UQ so making another Muso variant allows more sales channels than the usual Naim dealer network ?
