Bluetooth transmitter

Sorry but I didn't know if this is a Hi-Fi Corner thing or a Streaming thing.

Second apology for even mentioning the work Blutetooth on a H-Fi forum!

Anyway, SWMBO wants some music in the kitchen. At the moment she simply turns up the volume in the living room where the Naim is setup but then it's a bit too loud in the living room and doesn't really sound that great in the kitchen. So I had the crazy idea of installing a Bluetooth speaker in the kitchen! Okay it won't exactly be Hi-Fi but perfectly acceptable for a kitchen ;-)

So after wasting and hour with the NDX before I twigged the bluetooth on the NDX is for INPUT only I had a quick conversation with Phil who suggested I put a bluetooth transmitter on the digital output on the NDX. To that end I have just take delivery of a cheapo digital in (coax) to bluetooth transmitter which I'm itching to have a play with tonight.

Anyway I was wondering has anybody done this before? Any pointers or comments? Can anyone suggest a good bluetooth transmitter? The cheap one from ebay is okay for proof of concept but are there better quality transmitters?

Thanks for any feedback.

PS did consider a MuSo (or similar) but then found out a) You MUST use a phone to control the MuSo (that's a no-no for me and the wife) b) it forgets to work as a multi-room device once switched off so you have to reconfigure it when you switch it back on (why? Why not remember the last setting?).

If you are happy to control the NDX with a phone, one would think that a Qb would be perfect in the kitchen. We used to do multiroom by turning it up in the sitting room and opening the doors, but since having the Qb we love it. Being able to perfectly synchronise music or the radio is so useful, and of course you can play different music in each room if you want.

Most of the time the Qb is playing the radio and you can switch between your top five stations by using the touch panel with no need for the Naim app. This is what we usually do.

Just read the instructions for the transmitter I've got... turns out it can only go up to 16bit/44KHz :-( So I guess that's not going to be any good for my hi-res files :-(

So I really need a recommendation for a better bluetooth transmitter - any ideas please?

Sorry but we don't have 'smart' phones so the phone control option is a no-no.

How do you control the NDX?

Steve, I've moved this to the Streaming Audio room.  Possibly the hang out for the more Blutooth savvy members...

Bluetooth between devices in separate rooms is a recipe for dropouts in my experience. Maybe you'll be lucky and have no problems, but I would be looking for a more robust networked or wired solution.
