Would be interesting to do a straight switch demo of the Diablo with the Sopra 1.

Diablo's tweeter are supposed to reach further down into the midband giving out an insightful touch that's out of reach of most midband drivers.  Needing though the supporting system to provide the quality to bring out this design.     Sopra 1's tweeter doesn't perform quite the same although the mid bass driver looks like it'll outperform the Diablo' midbass driver - with a few reviews I have read saying that the bass and lower mid range detail is better on the Sopra 1.     With some systems and ears preferring the presentation of one over the other no doubt.

I went from a 250 active SBL system to a 135 Micro Utopia Be set-up some years ago. It was an improvement in just about every area, the one exception being the need to give the Focals some space, and I still have the Focal speakers. The Diablo Utopia appear to share some of the components of my speakers. My speakers have survived, indeed blossomed, through amplifier upgrades.

I had Micro Utopia Be as well and then about 4 years ago changed to the Diablo's. Straight out of the box they were fantastic speakers - fast, dynamic, detailed and a decent amount of deep, tight bass for a standmount. As with all speakers it is best to try them in your own system at home if you can, especially splashing out that sort of money. Focals - some love them, some hate them, it's all down to our individual tastes but they should sound great on the end of your kit.

It would also be worth you trying out the Sopra 1's. These are cheaper and to some ears better than the Diablo's.

In my experience speakers are very sensitive to environment so at that kind is budget a good patient dealer and some home demos is the way to go.

They have better treble quality that the B&W 802 D3's

They are fantastic on a supernait 2 and above.

Go for it.

no way jose - Sopra are in no way better than the Diablo's - not even close.
