Serie X servicing

Hello,

I know (i.e. read on this forum) that power amp and power supply need to be serviced after 8-10 years, while pre after 12-15.

1) Is it correct?

2) and what about the cd player (mine is the cd 5x) ?

3) There's a priority in the servicing? I mean, is the servicing of power amp and power supply more important than the servicing of Nac and Cd player?

Generally, Naim's advice on CD player service is to not bother unless the mechanism is failing or failed, mainly because CD players don't like being bounced around by couriers...

As for power amps and power supplies then 8-10 years has been the past advice from Naim, and I'd also add pre-amps here as well although it's the power supplies and power amps where servicing is a priority as the large caps can deteriorate rapidly and if left may even leak causing damage.

15 years is I believe now the recommendation on 500 series. I'm not sure about 5x series. Probably worth asking Naim...
