Set IP Tool not working, but Naim Desktop Client is....

Posted by: Mike Gilmour on 10 October 2016

I would appreciate some help!

I can't get the server (NS01) recognised by the Set IP tool.

Running Windows 10 and have removed firewalls.

Router is a BT homehub 5 and using a netstreams switch.

NS01 is recognised by the desktop client and I can access it using its (static) IP address.

Wanted to try downloading the latest version of the Set IP Tool but can't find one on the Naim website, just the Naim desktop client.

Have tried switching everything off, on etc.

Any ideas?

The Set IP Tool is still on the Naim website, if you look in the 'manuals and downloads' section at the bottom of either the HDX or Unitiserve pages.

Thanks for directing me to IP Tool. The tool was last updated in 2011 so I have been using latest one.

I think I have discovered issue.

I have various PCs connected via a homegroup.

However, the NetBIOS Domain for the PCs is WORKGROUP.

The NetBIOS domain for the NS01 is NAIM.

I'm worried about making changes that would disrupt the home network. Sharing is enabled throughout the house and is working fine even between the NS01 and the PCs, NAS.

Best option appears to be changing NetBIOS domain on the NS01 but a little wary. Any help appreciated...
