32.5 Board Pulling

Posted by: mikeybaby on 12 October 2016

Hi

I don't use phono. I use tuner and tape 1 inputs ..I pulled out 323 and 328 boards. Is this correct.

Yes, that's fine.  These boards would have been in the Phono 1 and Phono 2 positions.  You should probably get a little performance boost through other inputs.  The NA328 boards are not much used or needed these days.  They had variable sensitivity and a rolled off top end, in an effort to make the rather brash sound of CD players of the time a bit more palatable.  Used with a high quality CD player they're not such a good idea. If you wish to turn one of the Phono inputs into a line level input then fit a pair of NA326 boards.

Not a bad idea if you're using an MP3 player...

I finally found a stock 32.5 ... cannot believe my ears. Stunning. On par with my 52.  (CB 250 1984/ HCap DR/SBL/Sony Blu ray/Rega DAC)

J.V. would be proud of me.

Thanks guys!
