AV Options Voltage Conversion. Anyone done this?

Considering preloved Naim equipment availability is much higher in the UK etc, has anyone bought 230 volt gear and converted to 120? Shopping for preowned NDX or Superuniti and everything for sale in US is way more expensive. Thanks.

It's worth doing your sums here; You have the UK purchase price.  Then add shipping and insurance (the latter has become very expensive these days).  Then you have customs clearance charges and import duty and local taxes to pay.  Then you have the shipping to and from AV Options as well as the cost to convert to 115V which may involve a new transformer depending on the model.

Now, if this is starting to sound a little less attractive, then consider that you will have no local support or warranty and  what is in effect a "grey import" which may also impact on its secondhand value should you wish to sell. And then there's the time and effort involved with all the above and the chance that something might go wrong.
