Update to reading sheet music PDFs on iPad etc

You may remember that I posted about using an iPad to read my guitar sheet music when away from home?
Well, I tried the various options, even buying a wifi external hard drive. That worked, but, the screen was still too small for serious use. I should also add that I was not at all impressed with either of the two supposedly ipad/iphone compatible USB sticks I tried. One would only let me access files in its root directory, and then failed completely within a week. The other would only connect to my iMac if I used the lightning connector or plugged directly into a USB socket on the back of the iMac but wouldn't work with a USB 3.0 extender cable.
So, I went out and bought (shock, horror) a 15.6" screen 2 in 1 Windows 10 (HP) laptop. This does the job beautifully, though I did have to spend some time getting it to behave exactly the way I wanted it to. I did find that I had forgotten most of my Windoze tricks in the time I have had my iMac, but I think I've got it all sorted now.
Result? Happy to use the 2 in 1 in tablet mode for Sheet Music sight reading, and have the added bonus of using Sibelius on the laptop (not in tablet mode) to edit my Sibelius files while away from home.
Also traded in my Blackstar 5HT amp and got a Marshall DSL40C. Why? Because I play mostly using clean tones, and I was finding that I had the Blackstar on max volume setting most of the time while doing this. SWMBO tells me to go and get my hearing checked, but I reply that the Blackstar was plenty loud enough if I increased the gain, but at the expense of adding in distortion. The Marshall is much nicer/warmer, although tends to be a bit bass heavy (tone controls although anathema in hifi terms are essential on a guitar amp IMO). No, I am not contemplating taking up gigging now that I have a more powerful guitar amp, although my tutor is trying to persuade me to come along and play bass for him sometimes.
Bought the Electro-Harmonix Mel9 pedal at the same time. Fantastic new toy!
